Back After A Month Long Break: What's Been Happening Update
Wow, I haven't posted in over a month. So this is going to be a rather long blog but it's going to cover EVERYTHING that has been happening. Plus, I got internet back so I'm actually able to do more now so lets get started.
First; I had mentioned in a previous blog about an upcoming surgery I was having which was a gallbladder removal and a umbilical hernia repair. It was actually a three birds with one stone surgery. I had my gallbladder removed, the hernia was...whatever (we shall discuss that momentary) and I had my right earring that has been stuck in my ear over a decade removed (also discussing that). The surgery went well. They removed my gallbladder, four incisions. One on the top of my stomach near the chest area, one on the right side in the middle, one on my lower right side near my hip, and the larger one going vertically under my belly button. The glue that was holding my incisions together took over a month to fall off; my most recent and final piece was the lower incision under my belly button. They are healing nicely and I was still extremely tender on the one under the belly button a week after when I saw my surgeon for a follow up but she assured me that was normal since that was where my gallbladder was removed and it stretched it, as well as what they did for the umbilical hernia. They had sent my gallbladder out for testing and it came back that it had a mild infection, not enough to make me insanely sick but enough it was sitting there becoming a problem. If I had waited this would have become severe and probably sent me septic or extremely sick, if not both. While my PCP was certain that my surgery for my umbilical hernia had undone itself and would have to be repaired, that was not the case. Apparently the scar tissue was attached to the abdominal wall which is why at times it felt like my insides were stretching and pulling. She snipped it off and got rid of that. I still feel like something is going on with that but you know, whatever. She knows what she is doing, so we assume that was the end of that.
As for my earring. Over a decade ago I began to stretch my ears. Unfortunately, my right ear the most problems with healing from my original piercing that stretching it was a job in itself. I had gotten a double flare metal tunnel as the tattoo place I purchased it from said they were the best. Shoved them in, a month later, pulled the left and stretched to a 4 (smaller sizes when stretching your ears is how big it becomes). Pulling the right...was not so easy. My ear and decided that a month in between was not okay and my ear healed around the tunnel. I could still move the earring, twist and turn it. But the hole had become so small that I couldn't pull it out. I learned real quick that double flares like that is not okay. I gave up trying after multiple tattoo artists couldn't bend it and all other options had failed me. My only choice was going to have to be to blow my ear and rip it out causing damage to it. When I told my surgeon that it could not be removed, she was almost hesitant at that point to even do my surgery because the heating tool (whatever that it was) could cause me to have any degree of burn to my ear and she didn't want that unless I signed a waiver that I would not sue for it. That was then when we had this grand idea to have it ripped out after I was under. Signed a new paper, and that was that.
Because of my anxiety coming out of anesthesia, they gave me a good dosage of medicine so I would be okay. Honestly, I remember feeling funny as they started pushing medicine through my IV before I was taken back and when I was in the OR, they kept talking to me and telling me what they were doing. I fought for a few good moments before they kept pushing more into my IV and the last thing I remember was the nurse telling me to count down. No idea what number I was on or even if I started counting. Surgery was an hour and a half and I did a hard recovery. I slept for five hours and it began to worry the nurses and so they had to force wake me. I would stir and cry out in pain, I remember that much, but that was about it until I began to come to more. I remember a few times waking up enough to say I was hungry and thirsty, and at one point was CERTAIN the nurse brought me a egg cheese sausage biscuit from McDonalds. When I was finally awake enough to talk I asked about it because I honestly could smell it and taste it. Ally laughed, my nurse did not have a good sense of humor. I did, however, down like five cups of Apple Juice and a cup of water. We left the hospital around 8P (my surgery was at like...1:30? Something like that...) and went to Walmart to pick up my medicine. I was prescribed Ibuprofen, Asprin, and Oxy. Now, a little secret I don't mention is that I can't take narcotics due to a history that hardly no one knows about but very few. I manged to do my recovery without taking a single one, and my girlfriend has them hidden in the house.
Now that I'm almost a month out from my surgery, I'm having complications with my lower incision under my belly button. The pain has only gotten worse, which is going to have to prompt me to call my surgeon and see what needs to be done. That will be another update itself.
Moving on; Project and Portfolio III. This is my third retake and I'm finally getting somewhere with my professor after two months of fighting with the school. I'm holding a 90 in the class and I'm really pushing myself to pass, because I refuse to fail again. If I do, I probably will drop out because I just can't deal with this class anymore. He is actually communicating with me which is crazy shocking so I'm getting good feedback and really applying my creativity to its max. I'll have to share some screen shots in another post just for that class when it's all said and done and the progress I made from Week One to Week Four.
Thirdly; I haven't been able to play The Sims 4 in over a month or so. I had done everything in my power to fix it including talking to EA four different times. The issue was simple and I found it on Google with other Simmers to find that it was just a proxy issue that was preventing Origin to connect. So I'm back to playing The Sims 4 and I have every pack now except Island Living. So I'm going to be back getting back into doing videos and posting some speed builds and apartment renovations as well as starting a new Lets Play series.
I know I had a few things to cover, more than what I have so far but there has been so much that I just can't remember it all. I do know I will be making a post soon to reveal a big surprise that I hope to find out today so when I find that out, I will have a blog post over that.
