Mid-Week Catch Up
I haven't done this in a bit, but I thought I would do this again.
So I have started a new class. Shading and Lighting. So far week one has me all sorts of...no idea. Back to reading chapters, lots of videos. I've decided to go back to my old school habits instead of whatever I have been doing the last few months and putting things aside that really aren't that important and focusing on school. I've let my grades sort of slip but I also have a LOT going on in my life that made it hard to focus on school the last several months. I never gave up though, I kept pushing through because that is me. I'm back to taking notes on the chapters I read, taking notes on the videos I watch, and rewatching the lectures to make sure I have all the notes I need. It really is something I miss doing. Sure, it seems like I over achieve but this is what helps me the most. Taking a few days to really dig deep into what we are doing and taking notes before actually working on the assignments. I'm loving what we are doing this week in shading and lighting and getting to render scenes. This is going to help me out when I work on my portfolio pieces, which I have two side projects in Maya that I kind of have been stuck in because I've reached the point of not knowing what exactly to do.
Which leads me to update on those two pieces. My Boho Bedroom project I hit this horrible road block in because I felt like I kept adding the same pieces over and over and over again and not sure of what more to add to it. My IKEA inspired office project is coming along better than I expected and really breaking down those pieces. Apart of me wants to make single objects and bring them into Substance Painter and mess around with that just so I have certain things to prove my abilities without making huge scenes. Plus, I need to experiment with Substance Painter more than just the few times than I did.
There really isn't a lot more to update on but as I work on my pieces this month I will post what I do and create.
