New Life Journey - I'm Quitting Smoking After How Many Years?
I have been waiting to post this as it's been a very rough three days, today being my third day. However, I do feel that today has been slightly easier than the last two days. But it's also 12:00 in the afternoon and the day has just barely reached it's mid.
With that being said, I'm day three of quitting smoking. In two days I've only had two cigarettes. My first day (Tuesday January 22nd 2019) I had a full cigarette that lasted me throughout the day and then about two or three hits off a second one. Yesterday I used only that second one. Today I have yet to have a single puff. I'm trying to hold off for as long as I can and possibly not have a single one at all. We will have to see how that works out but hopefully it will be easy and by the time this 12 week program is supposed to end I will be an ex-smoker.
I originally started with a 2mg nicotine gum but I felt that wasn't doing enough for me because that is when you have a smoke 30 minutes after you wake up. 30 minutes after I would wake up I probably would have two down already. So I upgraded myself to the 4mg. I have sunflower seeds and now gum to help me when I'm not chewing this gum and if I start having bad cravings.
Now, you're probably wondering exactly how long I have been smoking that it's hard for me. I'm so happy people can quit cold turkey after years. I wish I could. I was smoking well before my legal age. WELL BEFORE my legal age. Around 13/14 I want to say was when I had my first few hits from a cigarette. I didn't heavily start to smoke until I was around 16. I'm turning 27 in May, so for about 10 years and some odd months I've smoked. It's just time to keep the promise I made to my grandmother and feel better about myself finally.
These last two months I've completely changed myself. I've lost weight, started eating healthier, and doing more to keep myself active and going. Which is a lot of the reason why I can't keep up with a gaming schedule. I have my speed builds ready to go, I just have failed to edit and get them posted. That is something I plan on starting today after I start some school work for the week.
Well, with that being said, expect a new life journey from me! I'll keep you all informed weekly on my journey and how it's going!
