3D Animation - Week One Frustration
I'm honestly not ok this morning. It's 11:10 AM CST and I'm about to have a nervous breakdown.
Honestly I spent this week with procrastination and doing things other than my school work to sit here on a Saturday with assignments due MONDAY and what happens, I have no idea what I am doing. I'm freaking out and the first words out of my mouth are, "I'm just going to drop out."
I'm frustrated. The videos make it seem SO freaking easy! I was CERTAIN (and my certainty never has steered me wrong so far in college) that I could do this. So of course I email my professor on a Saturday and just figured I would throw everything together in hopes to get a decent grade and of course, now THAT doesn't even want to work out for me.
Playblasting decides that when saving the .mov file that no file as such exists. Peachy as that is what I have to upload for everything. So I decided to close everything out, restart my MacBook, bring up the assignment and start over and then playblast it again. "Cannot save file as no such file exists." $#@!%&*#
The file MUST exist if you are PLAYING it on my freaking screen. You serious right now?!
Fifth attempt it finally saved. So I closed everything out, clicked to open the .mov file and what happens? "The file has been deleted or moved."
NO IT HAS NOT.
So here I am now at 11:16 AM CST, half an hour after this whole issue honestly contemplating my life and sanity and if this is worth it today and what I should honestly do. Just submit the Maya files with a nice .docx stating that my playblasts don't work? Perhaps I should just call my liaison first thing Monday and ask for a tutor. Or state that I am honestly going to have a complete and total meltdown as this is making me stress. Not to mention I'm a little lost as to WHY we are learning 3D Animation when at the beginning of the course, I attended a GoTo meeting that talked about what Game Art was and the first thing they said is that animation is not in the Game Art field. Hmmm... even if it was, I'm not going to be an animator as that is SO not what interests me at all. I'm into the making of scenes and possibly character designs. Not animation. NOT ANIMATION. Maybe in the end I will enjoy it? Who knows. But not right now.
not.
right.
now.
