Sheltered - Steam Game Review and Possible Upcoming Game Play Video?
So I actually started this game on Xbox yesterday when I discovered it on Game Pass. It reminded me of the game "This War of Mine: Little Ones." I felt that it was a knock off of it though when watching the trailer.
I actually did three attempts before finally getting it down on Xbox and I think I'm on day 90 something on there.
I discovered it was on Steam and I said, "Why not?" So I bought the game.
If you don't know what it's about, let me give you a little run down.
First thing first is you set up your difficulty and how you want to run the game, survival or scenario (which I don't know what scenario is as that is not on the Xbox version). I chose survival because it's fun. You then customize your family, two parents and two children, and give them traits and stats, as well as how they look. You can also give them a pet and name the pet. Yes, I named my Dogmeat because why not?
Once you start you end up in a shelter like so. You start off with this. Small little shelter, few rooms, and some basic necessities. I usually spend the first day or two getting what I need built; shower, toilet, bed. Then I set up an expedition and send out the two adults. TIP: Make sure you craft sacks or a satchel if you have upgraded your workbench, it gives you extra carrying spaces because you honestly don't get crap without it. Make sure you have gas masks, too. Otherwise you have yourself in a mess right off the bat with radiation poisoning. I always set up a few expedition runs back to back with some breaks in between to give my characters time to fix their needs. I always leave the children behind to fix and upgrade parts.
When collecting items, I always go for what I need the most or what I know I need to upgrade certain items.
I'll have to do a game play video later tonight possibly or tomorrow, make a new series on my YouTube. It's honestly a very fun and addicting game. I would recommend it for sure.
I'll have to break down how I found it to be the best way to survive in the game, but I probably won't be able to repeat how I made it so quickly on the Xbox version because that's just my luck right?
It's a fun time passing game and I honestly got sucked into it when I didn't think I would because I thought it was going to be a horrible knock off of This War of Mine but it's just as good if not better!
